Week 4 - Lovin' It!

So, I'm going on week 4 and I absolutely Love my hair! It feel's soft and healthy. I have small coils all over my head, it's so cute to me. I'm learning how to work with my hair all over again. I realized after viewing several blogs and videos that I was washing my hair too much. I was washing my hair with regular shampoo almost twice a week for two weeks after my chop. I know, that horrible. But so many people were telling me that I could do anything with my low hair cut, wash it freely, sleep with  scrarf and no one mentioned that I had to moisturize. Besides my little leave-in conditioner I didn't add anything else. Towards the end of the second week, my hair was feeling dry and looking dull. I immediately went online to see if I could get some help from my Natural Sistas, and before I knew it, it was 2 am and I had been surfing the net watching videos and reading blogs for about 6 hours straight. Did I eat dinner?
I realized that I was ruining my hair, again. I was washing entirely too much. Water = Yes, Shampoo = NO! at least not twice a week.

So, I stopped washing, purchased some Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner and the Cantu Shea Butter rinse conditioner.  I also purchased some Sulfate-free Shampoo, so my natural oils wouldn't be stripped from my hair during the washing process. This shampoo is temporary until I find another, which hopefully will be by this weekend. I also picked up some Jojoba Oil.

Today, I used the Cantu Leave-in conditioner which I put about a tablespoon worth in my palm and rubbed throughout my hair, and finished my hair with a mix of Pure Shea butter and Jojoja mixed together and rubbed throughout my head, since my hair is cut so short it's easy to moisturize the scalp. As my hair grows I will be using a wide-tooth comb to help ensure the product is distributed throughout the hair.

Working on adding all of pictures, sorry for the delay!

Peace and Blessings!
